Back To Basics

Assalamualaikum...

Hi Incik Bloggie~~~

Alhamdulillah... Finally dah berjaya habiskan membaca buku 'Back To Basics' by Norhafsah Hamid. What I can said it's a wonderful book by an amazing author. Definitely a must read book to all Muslims. Seriously~~~

Secara ringkas, the author shared about her own life in beautiful way, gave me an inspiration in searching the right path and a way back to Islam. Born as a Muslim, but still terasa macam ilmu tu sangat sikit.

There's one chapter the author writes about Rasulullah SAW. Kalau ditanya 'kamu kenal Rasulullah SAW?' not just the author, me too will answer 'Of course I know him, all Muslim know him kan...'. Tapi sejauh mana tahap kita mengenali baginda. Slap on my face! Ouch! Then the author explained clearly why Rasulullah SAW itu menjadi kekasih Allah. Truth to be told, at first aku pun macam tertanya-tanya sedangkan Nabi Adam A.S. merupakan manusia pertama yang dicipta Allah. Now I understand why... Face palm...*kalau pasal retis2 serba-serbi tahu!*.

Kebetulan Ramadan pun bakal berkunjung tiba. "He will only reveal that night to whom He Wills."

Narrated Aisha ra:  Rasulullah SAW said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." Sahih Bukhari

The author writes about "Fashionably Modest" and "Happiest Women in the World".

Quote from 'Back to Basics' book.

"...women, are like sparkling diamonds, if you let too many hands touch it, not only it will get dirty with too many smudges and finger prints, it will also lose its shine and lustre."

The advice from Wise Owl to author...
"Sister, woman in Islam is like rare diamond. We need to keep it under wrap because if we expose her, then the wrong person might steal her away. Her beauty is only to be admired by those who are 'chosen' and privileged. Her beauty will remain rare if she can only be seen by selected people. If an item can be seen by everyone and touched by everyone then it will become common. Women are also like rare flowers, if we expose it to the sun, it will wilt and shrivel but if we keep it covered and safe, it will bloom for a very long time. You need to decide for yourself whether you want to be a rare jewel or a common flower."

Wow. Terasa seperti terkena kejutan elektrik sekejap, terdiam, tersentak sekejap masa baca ni atas katil. For me, its too deep.

The Prophet S.A.W said; “Anger comes from devil, the devil was created by fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you become angry, he should perform ablution.” – hadith sunnah of Abu Dawood

Suddenly terbaca hadis yang dikongsikan oleh penulis. Gulp! It should be a reminder if terasa nak marah lepas ni.

Bila baca satu buku yang ditulis based on author's own experience rasa lebih dekat dan sampai mesej yang hendak disampaikan tu. Actually ni buku kedua by Norhafsah Hamid, her first book is 'Trying to be Muslim'. Dan terasa nak baca jugak buka pertama dia, maybe I should use RM20, book voucher given by Kinokuniya to buy that book! Yeay! jimat duit sebab harga dia baru RM18. As I said before, yeah...we were born as Muslim, but I myself don't think I really did enough to be called as one.

Facing confusion in life...back to the root where we come from, let's back to basics.

Last but not least...

Salam sayang & jangan marah! Kalau marah kena jual, kalau tak marah teruskan berkasih sayang. = )

Till we meet again Incik Bloggie!

Wassalam...
