Bedtime Story #19: Kekayaan, Kejayaan & Kasih Sayang

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie! & silent reader...*eh ada ker...*

Ramadan Kareem~~~ Alhamdulillah dah masuk 5 Ramadan & dah 4 hari berpuasa. So, how your Ramadhan? Semoga dipenuhi dengan ibadah2 & aktiviti2 yang bermanfaat.

Malam ni ceq nak share satu story untuk dijadikan renungan kita bersama. Kalau tak tahu cerita ni boleh terus baca, kalau dah tahu baca jelah lagi sekali. Tak rugi pon...mihmihmih...

*****

Bedtime story #18: Be a warrior of your dream, a knight of your goal and a soldier of your wishes.

One day a son came to his father for an advice:
– Dad, I can’t do this anymore, – he said, – those lessons only exhaust me, and the result doesn’t change. It must be not destined for me to play football and my dream will never come true.
The father looked at his son with loving eyes and said:
– You know son, every person in life has a dream, a goal of his life. They are the ones that make us do what we are doing, because it’s what we should do. We have to fight for what we believe in, what we feel. In other case, you will simply brake. Once – and for all. As thought you were never there. The easiest way is to quit everything and not go until the end, because the path is difficult and we are not used to inconveniences. We want everything to be easy and at once. But the wishes are fleeting! This is how our dream dies, and the goal becomes unreachable. Gradually, life becomes a routine without depth and meaning. Then one day, we try to forget and start everything from the beginning, we wait for a new day to make our life different. But new obstacles come in our way, and we stop again. We become full of despair and anger for our own helplessness. But you only need to remember one thing: never give up, fight, battle. It doesn’t matter that you have lost one battle and even dozens of battles. Life goes on! Your biggest enemies are hiding in you – laziness, fear, doubt, indecision. Be a warrior of your dream, a knight of your goal and a soldier of your wishes.

Bedtime Story #17: Three Tough Questions

There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.

Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?

Scholar: I am one of Allah (SubHana Wa Ta`ala )'s slaves and Insha-Allah (God willing), I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.

Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of Allah(SubHana Wa Ta`ala).

Young Man: I have 3 questions:

1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.

2. What is takdir (fate)?

3. If shaitan (Devil) was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Shaitan (Devil) and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.

Young Man (feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?

Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young Man: I really don't understand.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.

Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

Young Man: Yes.

Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!

Young Man: I cannot.

Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: That is takdir (fate)........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?

Young Man: It is created from flesh.

Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?

Young Man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: In pain.

Scholar: Even though Shaitan (Devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, insha-Allah (God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan (Devil).

Bedtime Story #16: The Other Doors

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie.

Bedtime story session back on the scene!!!

*****
Our 4 year old son has some fairly serious health problems, so we are "frequent fliers" at the local children's hospital. Two weeks ago, our son was there for several days having surgery.

As stressful as that was for us, my visits to that hospital almost always leave me feeling grateful. Why? Because of "the other doors."

As I walk the corridors of that hospital, I pass doors leading to many different departments. I pass the department where surgeons reconstruct children's faces. I pass the department where specialists treat children who have been tragically burned. I pass the department where children with cancer spend their childhoods battling a disease that terrifies most adults. Every day, people walk through those doors. I keep walking.

Occasionally, I walk through a ward, past the room of a dying child. I look in at the child, unconscious amid a mass of tubes and machines. I see the family, staring blankly into space, grieving for what is to come. I keep walking.

On the fourth floor, I pass the "catacombs" where parents with children in ICU watch their days and nights stretch into weeks and months, hoping against hope for good news. I keep walking.

It's late one evening, and I walk to the waiting room. Only one family remains, and their doctor arrives from surgery. He begins to tell them about the patient's injuries....a shotgun blast, self-inflicted ....massive facial damage.... a dozen more operations to come....a lifetime of disfigurement...a lifetime of asking "why?" I sit, half-listening, considering the doors, this family will face in the years ahead.

I stood up. I walk back to the preschool ward, to the one door I seek. Behind this door, our son is slowly recovering from surgery. And in a strange way, I am grateful for the "situation" that we live with.

Because there are hundred other doors in this place that are far worse. And we could just as easily be in one of those rooms.
*****

As you pray for strength to open the doors you face, be sure to thank Allah Ta'ala for the doors he has spared you.

Till we meet again Incik Bloggie!

DIAgnosis

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie!!!

Lama rasanya tak menulis review buku. *Gaya macam lah selalu sangat dia tulis kan!

NOVEL? WHAT? At first macam tak percaya aku beli novel. Lama dah kot den tak baca novel inikan lagi nak beli.

Buku DIAgnosis dah lama ada kat pasaran, since last year, baru sekarang nak beli sebab tunggu baucer buku...*pengakuan jujur...face palm*. Dia punya tunggu...punya tunggu... sampai DIAgnosis 2 pun dah keluar di pasaran.

Just now, baru je habiskan baca buku DIAgnosis...aku ambik masa beberapa jam je nak habiskan novel ni.

Ahaks! I guess cerita-cerita yang diorang tulis ni mesti based on their experiences. Agak juling jugaklah bila terbaca perkataan-perkataan medical yang bagiku kedengaran seperti bahasa alien. Luckily ada footnotes, meaning of the medical terms. So...bolehla den yang belajar business ni faham.

Most of the stories, berkisar pasal ragam pesakit. Di setiap ending cerita, he'll explained moral of the story.

Dr Azah pula...cerita yang ditulis alahai...why sound so sweet... Alergik manis-manis sangat neh...huhu... Cerita dia agak panjang, so struggle jugaklah nak habiskan kisah2 yang ditulis Dr Azah ni. Tapi paling menarik, dia story pasal sambut baby dekat labour room, penjagaan kanak-kanak and how they handle ibu-ibu muda yang melahirkan 'bayi yang tidak mereka pinta'.

Part Dr Aizzat...haa...agak mencabar nak faham sebab agak 'klinikal' penceritaannya. Tapi tu encourage otakku untuk berimaginasi "macam tu rupanya doc handle pesakit at certain condition".

Antara quotes yang aku tertarik;

EGOISTIK by Dr Aizzat: "Apabila ego menguasai hati, iman terbang jauh ke langit tinggi, syaitan datang dekat kata mari"

ALIF BA TA by Dr Anwar Fazal: "Alif...ba...ta-ubat..."itu ubat kamu...

So...so...so...for me; worth buying and worth reading. But I like this novel! So tak kisahla uollss nak kata apa, AAK? *lepas uollss tau makna AAK tu mesti rasa macam  lempang laju2 budak neh!* Looking forward to read DIAgnosis 2 pulak. Actually dah terbaca 1 kisah dalam novel tu, sebab tajuk macam menarik kan... Menanti Superman... *where are you Superman? eh!!!*

Katil umpama dah memanggil-manggil namaku...terbayang-bayang esok ada kelas...Semangat!!! Semangat!!! Intan!!!

Till we meet again Incik Bloggie!

Pssttt... AAK: Ada Aku Kesah! Ahaks! Selamat malam dunia penuh pancaroba.

Bedtime story #14: Potatoes, eggs, and coffee beans

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie!

Aik...Awalnye?

Still early for bedtime story ek... Orang kata, malam masih muda la...

Baby kena cukup tidur 8jam. Esok nak bangun awal... *Ahaks! poyo je minah ni...*

*****

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee beans in the third pot.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing.

After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.

He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup. Turning to her he asked. “Daughter, what do you see?”

“Potatoes, eggs, and coffee,” she hastily replied.

“Look closer,” he said, “and touch the potatoes.” She did and noted that they were soft. He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.

“Father, what does this mean?” she asked.

He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity– the boiling water.

However, each one reacted differently.

The potato went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak.

The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard.

However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.

“Which are you,” he asked his daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean? “

*****

In life, many things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is what happens within us.

Which one are you?

Bedtime story #13: Difference in Love and Marriage

Assalamualaikum...
Hai Incik Bloggie...
Memandangkan tengah berderet jemputan kawen, hati ni tergerak pulak nak share kisah ni... *aigo...*

*****
A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.
But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."
The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders... may be there is a bigger one later.
Then he saw another bigger one... But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.
Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.
So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.
The teacher told him, "this is love... You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realise, you have already miss the person..."
"What is marriage then?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."
The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "This time you bring back a corn. You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get... This is marriage."

Nice analogy... Setuju? ok...tak payah jawab. Simpan jawapan anda tu dalam hati. =)

Bedtime Story #12: 7 Perempuan Bertanya, Seorang Lelaki Menjawab

Sekumpulan wanita sedang berhimpun berbincang tentang pelbagai permasalahan.

Keluhan wanita pertama:
"Aduh, situ tutup, sini tutup, semua nak kena tutup. Susah la camni. Apasal laki-laki mudah saja? Tak pakai baju pun takpe. Perempuan auratnya kiri kanan atas bawah depan belakang."

Keluhan wanita kedua:
Padahal suami nak keluar ke mana-mana pun, tak bagitau kami takpe pulak."

Keluhan wanita ketiga:
"Jika kita ikut faraid (pembahagian harta pusaka mengikut Islam), ikut surah al-Nisa dalam hal pusaka, rugilah kita. Sebab bahagian harta pusaka perempuan lagi sikit rasanya berbanding harta yang anak lelaki dapat. Itukah keadilan?"

Keluhan wanita keempat:
"Kenapa Allah jadikan wanita mengandung dan rasa sakitnya nak melahirkan anak? Suami kita senang saja, masa buat anak cari kita. Masa nak beranak, kita yang tanggung sendiri!"

Keluhan wanita kelima:

Siapa mereka? Mereka ialah suami anda, ayah anda, anak lelaki anda dan adik lelaki/abang anda."

Pada wanita keenam, lelaki itu menjawab:
"Nak beribadat macam lelaki beribadat?

"Saya, seorang lelaki wajib berjihad fisabilillah.

(Surah al-Baqarah, ayat 216)

Bedtime story #11: The old married couple

Assalamualaikum...

Hi Incik Bloggie!

Tonight bedtime story is short and simple but 'compact'.

*****

Once a woman asked her husband:
Darling, how did we manage to keep our marriage together for 65 years?

To which he replied:
Well... Honey, we were born in a time when, if something would break we used to fix it, not throw it away.

*****

Sweet isn't?
But this story has a good moral.

'... if something would break we used to fix it, not throw it away.'

As promised, I would like to keep tonight bedtime story sweet and simple. #KISS

The end.

Selamat malam dunia penuh pancaroba.

Bedtime Story #10: Power of Mind

Assalamualaikum...

Hi Incik Bloggie!

Tonight I wanna share a simple story with a deep message.

*****

Recently, a rich man hosted a feast in his house. When the guests were enjoying their meals, the cook suddenly whispered something to the host. Spontaneously, he called upon his guests and explained that the cook had accidently put a rat poison in the food. He apologized profusely for the mistake. All of a sudden, the guests rushed to the toilet, because suddenly they experienced stomach aches and bouts of vomiting. A doctor was called and later, it was discovered that the host was mistaken. Actually, there was no poison in the food. It was really a simple case misunderstanding. As a result, the guests were relieved. Suddenly, the stomach pains and vomiting were gone. Within minutes everything was back to normal.

*****

Based on the story, it shows that the mind has a great influence on an individual.
My simple conclusion for the tonight bedtime story - everything starts in the mind and everything can ends in the mind as well.

Till we meet again Incik Bloggie!

Bed Time Story #9: Lesson on Life

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie!

Once upon a time...

*****

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall. Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don't judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later.

*****

Kadang-kadang dalam kehidupan kita selalu melihat sesuatu dari sebahagian perspektif or one side or just one angle. But then, there are another 359 degree with another 5 sides left unseen. Kita manusia yang dijadikan sempurna dalam ketidaksempurnaan.  For example, when we look at the coin, we can't look at both sides simultaneously. However, it's possible for us to look at both sides of the coins at 'different time'. We can choose which side to look at first then follow by the other side. Same goes for life.

Admit that I'm not perfect, cause I'm only human *tarik Gaya Christina Perry gituh! *. Just a simple reminder to myself, don't judge people based on their past. We never know, one fine day orang tu akan jadi lebih baik dari kita.

That's all from me. Sedikit 'contemplation' sebelum tidur. Semoga esok masih ada untuk kita.

“Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

Selamat malam dunia penuh pancaroba.

Bed Time Story #8: An interview with Muhammad Ali

Assalamualaikum...

Hai Incik Bloggie!

Alhamdulillah, bertemu kita kembali untuk sesi bed time story... even Iolss belum pun rasa mengantuk lagi dan masih banyak halaman buku OM yang perlu ditelaa'h dan difahami *selingan dan sila abaikan...*.

Malam ni Iollss nak share kisah interview bersama Muhammad Ali, world famous boxer tu... Iollss terbaca dekat satu website ni. Simple je tapi deep~~~~

Something to ponder before we go to sleep...

*****

The following incident took place during an interview with the world famous boxer, Muhammad Ali.

It all started with an innocent question: You have beaten some of the toughest men in the world in the ring. What scares you the most?

Ali: [Points to his wife, too much laughter]

Lonnie Ali: Come on, Muhammad, joking aside, tell them what really scares you.

Ali: Nothing.

Lonnie Ali: Nothing on this earth maybe, but... tells them Muhammad.
[There is a long pause]

Ali: Not going to heaven.
[Everyone present became silent. Sister Lonnie Ali had tears flowing down her cheeks. Others present was also shaken and silent. A few wiping their eyes. Br. Malik Mujahid broke the silence, patting Muhammad Ali on his arm.]

Malik Mujahid: "No, Insha Allah, you will enter Jannah because you have helped so many people."

Ali: [Muhammad Ali turned his face towards Br. Malik Mujahid, looking at him as though asking: Are you sure? Are you sure about yourself?]

Malik Mujahid: "The Mumin lives between hope and fear."

Where as the toughest man in the world is wondering about his place in Jannah, what do you think about yourself. Will you go to Jannah? It's a question which everyone must ask himself and herself. A better answer may help us focus on the everlasting life.

We pray to Allah for the best of both worlds. If we want Allah to give us the best, we will have to strive for it.

Tak kira siapa pun kita atas muka bumi Allah ni... 'ask ourselves, and let every decision we make be a reflection of the answer to that question.'

Ameen.
